For something more lowkey, enjoy nearly three miles of trails at Lichterman Nature Center, set on 65 acres that includes a lake, meadows of native wildflowers and forest, wildlife, and an environmental education center. Slow it down even more in the Garden District. Established in the early 20th Century, it’s bursting with colorful gardens, towering trees, gorgeous homes and charming businesses. Or stroll through 30 specialty gardens at Memphis Botanic Garden. For those who want to spend a bit of time inside and out, Dixon Gallery & Gardens offers indoor fine art exhibitions as well as 17 acres of woodlands and exquisite gardens.

It’s a good thing that Blues, Soul and Rock’ n’ Roll Music are steeped in Memphis history and still thrive in neighborhood bars, local night clubs and music venues.
